AS2 Animation System Update :: v1.5
Since I first posted my animation system on here to share with the world, I have received some really terrific feedback. There were also a couple of feature requests mixed in there, and this release addresses those.
New in v1.5:
- Optional ‘delay’ parameter allows you to set a timeout in milliseconds that triggers the animation when expired.
- New animation type ‘blur’ - allows you to blur an object as simply as you would animate anything else.
Bonus:
- With the addition of the delay feature, my timeout manager is now included in this package as well. It allows you to easily manage multiple timeouts and remove them with ease if necessary before they expire.
For those of you who haven’t checked out my animation system, if you are interested and hardcore into Flash, I would love to get some feedback from you. This is a similar implementation to the one I wrote at EA that is now used in both Madden NFL and NCAA Football titles. The code is super clean and written in a strict, object-oriented manner, making it very easy to extend upon with new animation types and features.

Also, I know a lot of you are wondering when I’m releasing an AS3 version. It is in the works in what small amounts of free time I have available right now. My realistic goal is currently January.
